Movement for Actors

Great actor training focuses on the whole instrument: voice, mind, heart, and body. There is an intimate relationship between the emotional life of an actor and their physical expression.

Our monthly "Movement for Actors" class is designed to develop the actor’s physicality. This class will get you moving, familiarize you with the physical aspects of characterization and storytelling, increase your flexibility and coordination and give you the freedom to have fun with your entire instrument!

Get in a little exercise without the intimidation of a professional dance class with a class designed specifically with the actor in mind! Build a sense of grace, alignment, flexibility, strength, stamina, and vulnerability. You will learn to effortlessly apply these principles to making clear physical choices in your acting work in a vivid, authentic way.

About Your Coach

Courtney Locke is a performer and choreographer based in Atlanta, Ga. Some of her most recent credits include: portraying Annelle in Springer Opera House's first all women of color production of Steel Magnolias and the Runner in the short: I Could Just Die and That'd Be Alright. She has choreographed many productions around the Atlanta area, including Woodstock Art's productions of Sister Act & The Rocky Horror Show, Gainesville High School's productions of Chicago and Little Shop of Horrors as well as Etowah & Brookwood High School's productions of Mama Mia.  She is so excited to be teaching her first workshop at Greenlight! With her productions as well as her private students, Courtney aims to not noly create a character through their physical attributes but supply her students with tools that affirm their self-worth so their confidence shines through in their next audition. Courtney is currently preparing to appear in SheATL's Rathskeller: A Musical Elixir,  and is the founder of Actor Mommy Productions. She looks forward to moving with you!
