About the Event

An actor's instrument includes our entire body.

We use physicality to tell story, create character, demonstrate emotion, master complex blocking, and more!

From the most simple forms of film and television acting to the most complex high-energy musical theatre performers, the understanding of how movement plays a major role in an actors' performance, preparation and presentation is VITAL!

Join us for two workshops dedicated to getting your body moving!!

Learn how important physical choices are when creating character or showing emotion, learn how your body works as on of your greatest tools for communicating with a camera or an audience.

Learn how choreography and blocking go hand in hand and work together to make you a more directable, prepared actor, whether on set or on stage!

Saturday, July 1 10am-1pm

Part 2 | Blocking & Choreography

Saturday, July 1 2:30pm-5:30pm

About Your Coach

Courtney Locke is a performer and choreographer based in Atlanta, Ga. Some of her most recent credits include: portraying Annelle in Springer Opera House's first all women of color production of Steel Magnolias and the Runner in the short: I Could Just Die and That'd Be Alright. She has choreographed many productions around the Atlanta area, including Woodstock Art's productions of Sister Act & The Rocky Horror Show, Gainesville High School's productions of Chicago and Little Shop of Horrors as well as Etowah & Brookwood High School's productions of Mama Mia.  She is so excited to be teaching her first workshop at Greenlight! With her productions as well as her private students, Courtney aims to not noly create a character through their physical attributes but supply her students with tools that affirm their self-worth so their confidence shines through in their next audition. Courtney is currently playing Eve/Louise in Outfront's Ruthless!,  and is the founder of Actor Mommy Productions. She looks forward to moving with you in July!
