There are any number of situations where actors find themselves in need of solid "cold read" skills. Over the years, we've seen dozens and dozens of actors struggle with just the most basic parts of a good cold read technique. Word pronunciation, inflection, intonation, pacing, tone. Many of you have likely learned alot about how to make quick character choices with confidence in a cold read situation, but without the basics of fluency and solid oral interpretation skills, you're still missing a vital piece!

For sixteen years, coach Amey Richards taught fluency skills to create a better reading foundation. In this workshop, actors will get down to basics of the technique of reading aloud, be introduced to syllable patterns and letter-sound relationships,  and recognize vowel patterns,  consonant clusters and digraphs to make breaking down troublesome text happen with ease! With these word solving actions and continued practice,  actors should notice an increase in their fluency when cold reading.
