Most actors underestimate how much their breath affects their performance.
Whether it’s struggling through long monologues, losing emotional connection under pressure, sounding pushed or disconnected, or simply not knowing how to fully support the voice and body; breath control is one of the most overlooked tools in an actor’s craft.
The Actor’s Ascent is a unique workshop experience designed to reconnect actors to the power of breath through both physical exertion and performance work.
Things to know:
Actors will receive a short monologue in advance to prepare, which will become the foundation for the day’s exploration into breath, emotional connection, vocal support, endurance, and presence.
