Active Read-Through: Miss Congeniality

Get immersed in a world of bronzer, glitter, sashes and of course.... world peace as you dig into the character of your choice from Marc Lawrence's "Miss Congeniality".

This interactive workshop is a table read, scene study, character exploration and directed session all in one!

How It Works:

1. Choose the character you think you'd be best suited to play by purchasing the coordinating ticket. (Note: Some actors may play multiple roles)
2. Receive your script one week prior to the workshop.
3. Arrive and get this story on it's feet inside the studio working through the entire screenplay scene by scene under the direction of one of our coaches.

• Making discoveries and playing within scenes.

"Miss Congeniality" SYNOPSIS:

Desperate to save her career, tomboy FBI agent Gracie Hart must go undercover in uncharted territory...The Miss United States Pageant.

ROLES AVAILABLE: (all roles are open ethnicity and listed in no particular order)

• Gracie Hart - Female, 30's. Undercover FBI agent who infiltrates The Miss United States pageant as Miss New Jersey.
• Eric Matthews - Male, 30's. Gracie’s FBI colleague who is lead on the operation at hand (Actor will also play: Kid in Back (aka Tommy), Steve, and Waiter.)
• Harry McDonald - Male, 50-70. Senior Agent at the FBI and he can make or break Gracie’s career (Actor will also play Grandfather, Machine, Guy in Line, Alan Spiro, Gym Teacher, Charles and Judge 1).
• Stan Fields - Male, 50-70. one of the hosts of The Miss United States pageant (Actor will also play Brian McNichol, Clonsky, Guy, Rob Okun, Technician, Driver, Ralph, Scott, Harry Rascombe and Cop).
• Kathy Morningside - Female, 50-70. Director of Operations for The Miss United States pageant (Actor will also play Grandmother, Simpson and Francine).
• Nora - Female, 20s-30s. A member of the dispicable group the Daughters of the New American Revolution (Actor will also play Principal Barlow, Newscaster, Judge and Sally).
• Victor Moorhouse - Male, 50-70. Disgraced pageant consultant who works to prepare Gracie (Actor will also play Krashow, Jay Hart, Jensen, Boy and Judge 2).
• Cheryl Williams - Female, 20s-30s. Miss Rhode Island (Actor will also play Waitress, Emily and Press #1).
• Mary Jo Wright - Female, 20s-30s. Miss Texas (Actor will also play: Beth, Press #2, Lori and Rita).
• Leslie Davis - Female 20s-30s. Miss California (Actor will also play Niki Dean, Press #4, Pageant Matron and Director's Asssistant).
• Alana Krewson - Female, 20s-30s. Miss Hawaii (Actor will also play: Sanders, Press #3, Pageant Lady, Announcer and Miss Ohio).
• Karen Krantz - Female, 20s-30s. Miss New York (Actor will also play: Jennifer Barron, Girl and Susan).
