In this bold, modern adaptation inspired by Chekhov’s “Uncle Vanya”, Andrew Scott performs every character himself in a tour-de-force solo performance that has earned widespread critical acclaim.

The production is an incredible opportunity for actors to study transformation, character differentiation, emotional nuance, and storytelling through simplicity. Watching Scott seamlessly shift between multiple characters is a masterclass in acting technique, presence, and connection.

We lost a giant of comedy today. James Burrows is one of the most brilliant sitcom minds who ever lived and is responsible for some of the greatest television ever made. They just don’t make funny like his every day. He had a way of understanding the joke so clearly and knowing exactly what a moment needed to land it with such specificity. Rest in peace, Jimmy. 🤍

At a recent Greenlight panel, a notable Casting Director shared one of the biggest mistakes they see actors make in self-tapes:
“Actors forget they have a body.”
This workshop is designed to fight exactly that.

In an industry where so much work now happens in close-up frames and self-tapes, many actors have unintentionally become disconnected from one of their most powerful storytelling tools: their physical presence. This workshop is a chance to break out of that “self-tape purgatory” and reconnect to movement, space, instinct, and physical storytelling in a fun, energetic, highly interactive environment.

Through movement-based exercises, spatial work, ensemble exploration, and physical character-building techniques, actors will explore:
• Using the body to unlock emotion and character
• Physical impulses and behavioral choices
• Relationship to space and environment
• Movement as storytelling
• Breaking habits and discovering new instincts
• Bringing more dynamic physical life into auditions and performances

Workshops focused specifically on physical acting technique are surprisingly rare, especially in film-focused training spaces, making this a unique opportunity for actors looking to expand their toolkit in a way that many performers never get the chance to fully explore.

“Blues for an Alabama Sky”

But beyond the awards, this movie is essential viewing for actors and film lovers because it helped create the blueprint for the modern rom-com. The banter, opposites-attract dynamic, comedic tension, emotional vulnerability, and road-trip romance have influenced countless films ever since.
