Stage Combat for Teen Actors

This 1 night only intensive is an introduction to the type of safety and combat knowledge that any actor should have before walking on set! Acting roles of any size, from stage to commercials to major studio films, can call for basic stage combat knowlege - How do move your body to match the work your stunt double is performing? How to perform basic fight moves with fellow actor without inflicting pain? How to fall safely? What are the safety protocols you should expect on set? The intensive will cover basic stage combat skills, including: Falls Hand-to-hand combat (basic fights with punches, slaps, etc) Swordplay Set safety and equipment Questions every actor should ask before they agree to any stunt work on a set Schedule: Friday, June 24th, 6-9pm Open to Ages 12-17 This intensive will require parents of minors to sign a safety and training waiver prior to commencement of the workshop. Failure to sign this waiver forfeits your child's active participation in the workshop and refunds are not given for failure to sign the waiver. About Your Coach: Christian Stokes is an actor, stunt man, and stunt coordinator who has worked in the industry for over 26 years. His credits include "Stranger Things", "Doom Patrol", "Nashville", "Chase", "Alias", "Monster" and dozens more. He has appeared in major live stunt shows from theme parks to directing performances for the Marvel Universe's European Live Stunt Show Tour. He also performed in HBO's "Game of Thrones: Bleed for the Throne Experience" and HBO's "Westworld Interactive Experience" at SXSW. Christian has done live stunt shows all around the world as well as having been a stunt coordinator on major network television shows, films, commercials and more.
