Monologues are making a comeback! If you've watched any number of recent hit television series, you may have noticed the increasing trend of slower paced shows that result in deep connections to characters and stories. What does this mean? The excellent writing on today's successful shows lends itself to characters giving speeches and telling stories! In other words... monologues! Monologues and the ability to deliver them effectively is one of the actor's most basic and powerful tools and can be used to gauge a performer's acting ability, imagination, and understanding of a project's overarching narrative. In this 2 Night Workshop, you will bring in a 1 minute monologue of your choice and work with Coach Amey Richards to break it down into the most effective beats, levels, and tones to make it an engaging piece that can serve you for years to come! Actors ALWAYS need monologues, get yours ready now! Plus, we'll film your monologue so that you can add it to your Actor's Access Media, YouTube content, or wherever you promote yourself as an actor! 2 Night Workshop July 12-13 | 6:30-9:30pm About Your Coach: Growing up in Alvin, Texas, Amey Richards gained a passion for theatre beginning in high school under the guidance of her theatre teacher, Judy Radigan.
